A Profession in Crisis: Proactively Recruiting in Schools and Minority Communities
Law enforcement agencies should change their approach to recruitment and hire applicants such as students, women, and those in marginalized groups. These agencies should be proactive in recognizing potential candidates in places like schools and the military. Police officers should also be involved in schools, speaking at events and partaking in school activities. From a young age, students should be developing positive relationships with police officers and law enforcement.
