Police Youth Programs: Much More than Fun and Games
Police departments and sheriff's offices are actively engaging with the youth through youth programs and mentoring opportunities. COPS has contributed to developing programming for kids during the summer, some of which include PAL's which is a program that prevents youth from engaging in crime through outdoor activities and other creative outlets. These efforts are meant to create trustworthy relationships between the youth, the police, and the community.
